I believe that every entrepreneur, no matter at what stage, has come to terms that they need an email list. I even realized it a year into owning my own business because I found it very difficult to get people to purchase products from me (it’s difficult for people to buy from you when they don’t know who they heck you are).
Instead of looking for clients and customers, I decided to draw them to me. This way people who were actually interested in what I had to offer would be interested in learning about what I could do for them. List building is this magically sifter that helps you sift away people who are not for you and concentrate on those who are.
Now let me show you three quick ways to build your list from zero to 100 subscribers or to just add an additional 100 subscribers to your current list. Watch the short video below describing how.
1. Ask Friends for their Email Address
Most of us know at least 35 people. Whether we know them from high school, volunteering, or just hanging out in the same circle…it doesn’t matter. We know enough people to ask them for their email address. Some people may think that this is a waste of time. And I say “no way”, because you never know if someone needs your help unless you ask them. This is an easy way to get started with list building ASAP. You have 35 subscribers so far.
2. Attend Live Networking Events
An online business doesn’t mean that you should hide behind your computer all the time and avoid meeting people. The “old fashioned” way of marketing still works. I suggest attending as many face-to-face networking events that you can and when someone hands you a business card ask if you can add them to your subscriber email list. Let them know it’s to send them information related to what you do. Get at least 35 business cards a month (or as many as you can). You can do it! Now you are up to 70 subscribers already!
3. Use Social Media
Everyone, I mean everyone, has some type of social media account. Whether it is Facebook and Instagram (my two favorites), twitter or YouTube, you have “friends” that you can connect with through these social media sites. Why not ask those friends for their email address? Here’s how you do it. If you post something and you get tons of likes, hearts, or smiley faces, inbox the people that interacted with your post and ask them if you could add them to your list to send them more information on whatever you posted that they like. I’m sure you can get 30 likes right? Just make the post related to your business. If you can get 30 people to say yes, you now have 100 email subscribers!
Follow these three simple steps to get started building your list and you’ll have 100 subscribers in now time.
